In May,2011 Bashiok has announced that talisman is to be abandoned in diablo3. The talisman system is basic through which u can not get different gears and arms. Players must devote much time and energy to find items so that u can strengthen ur roles. It is kind of repeating. A little boring. Once the designers intended to make it complex. But out of many reasons, they then simplified the talisman. In the end the talisman was simplified to offer ‘stat’ function. The conciseness of this system is loved. But bashiok thinks it is unnecessary to improve it. It is really time consuming. Probably talisman will come back after the issue of diablo 3. Bashiok says it must be a success. In July,2007 Jay Wilson was interviewed. Some players think talisman are going to appear in the patch or xpans of diablo 3. But wilson denied the possibility. They abandon the talisman is because it is not attractive to players and the complexity is increased. So the blizzard won’t improve it. Items such as charms don’t exist either.
New system: Stone of Recall is added.
New system is made of three task awards, Nephalem Cube, Cauldron of Jordan, and Stone of Recall. These awards can be got before lvl 10.
Functions of each item:
Nephalem cube
Click the icon u want to decompose, u can get the materials. So far the known materials are common scraps, bone scraps, subtle essence, wood scraps. Usually u will get some materials u don’t need.
Cauldron of jordan
This item is a little like furnace. It can sell ur unnecessary items automatically and quickly. How to use it? Just click the icon. Obviously, blizzard is considerate in this aspect. Or players must spend much more time on dealing business. It is a waste of time for players to think whether they should sell certain items. Stone of jordan in diablo 2 is popular. Cauldron of jordan in diablo 3 must be also a success.
Stone of recall
Stone of recall is used to make it easier to go between towns. It saves time and increases the number of checkpoints. 5-10 seconds are needed to start this item. The cool time of the stone is unknown. This item can be used in combat. If cd doesn’t last long, it is used instead of scroll of town portal. As the number of checkpoints is large, i guess, the stone of recall can be used in furious battle.
